Our Story

Storify was founded by April, a social worker with over two decades of experience in the mental health and addictions field. After working in both urban and rural settings, April recognized a growing need for a more personal, collaborative, and community-focused approach to care, one that truly honours the uniqueness of each person’s story.

Building on the strong foundation April created, Donna has now joined the practice as an owner to help guide Storify into its next chapter of growth. Her commitment to our core values, along with her experience in the mental health field, ensures that the high standard of care you expect remains at the heart of everything we do.

Storify was created to offer exactly that: a therapeutic space grounded in safety, respect, and compassion. The goal, support individuals, parents, and families through life’s challenges while recognizing the strength and resilience within their own lived experiences.

With a multidisciplinary team and a deep understanding of the complexities of rural service delivery, Storify provides accessible, client-centered care across South Calgary and the Foothills MD. We also prioritize the wellbeing and professional growth of our team, fostering a culture of collaboration, consultation, and continuous learning.

Storify: A Name with a Purpose

The name Storify grew from a simple idea: that your story matters. Originally inspired by the word smash “YourStory,” We wanted something that captured not just the importance of your experiences, but your power to shape them.

Storify isn’t just a name, it’s an action. It speaks to the process of authoring your own story, finding meaning in where you’ve been, and choosing how the next chapters unfold. This belief is at the heart of Storify: helping you take ownership of your narrative with support, compassion, and care.

“Owning our story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing we'll ever do”

-Brené Brown
