Therapy Isn't One-Size-Fits-All: Here's How We Work

If you've ever looked at the self-help section in a bookstore, you've probably noticed there are countless ideas about healing and personal growth. It can leave you wondering, "How do I know what's right for me?"

Our answer is simple: it depends on you.

At Storify, we don't believe there's one "right" way to do therapy. Every person who walks through our doors brings a unique story, different experiences, and different goals. That's why we take the time to get to know you and create an approach that fits who you are.

We Start with Your Story

Before we're therapist and client, we're two people getting to know each other.

Rather than focusing only on labels or diagnoses, we want to understand what has shaped you, what's important in your life, and what brought you here. Your experiences, relationships, strengths, and hopes all help guide the work we do together.

We Take a Trauma-Informed Approach

Many of the struggles people experience, whether it's anxiety, feeling overwhelmed, difficulty trusting others, or feeling stuck, can be connected to past experiences.

Being trauma-informed simply means we recognize those experiences may still have an impact today. We create a space where you can move at your own pace, where you feel respected and supported, and where you're never pressured to share more than you're ready to.

We Focus on Your Strengths

It's common for people to come to therapy feeling like something is wrong with them.

We see things differently.

Every person has strengths, resilience, and ways they've learned to cope, even if those strengths don't feel obvious right now. Together, we'll help you recognize what's already helping you, build on those strengths, and find new ways to move forward with confidence.

We Believe the Relationship Matters

One of the strongest predictors of successful therapy isn't a specific technique, it's the relationship between you and your therapist.

That's why we place so much importance on creating a genuine connection built on trust, compassion, and understanding. As that relationship grows, it can become a safe place to practice new ways of communicating, setting boundaries, building confidence, and connecting with others outside the therapy room.

Because No Two People Are the Same

Therapy isn't meant to be one-size-fits-all.

A teenager navigating anxiety has different needs than someone healing from a difficult relationship, adjusting to a life transition, or supporting a child through challenges. Our clinicians are trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches, allowing us to tailor therapy to you rather than expecting you to fit into one particular model.

Thinking About Reaching Out?

You don't need to have everything figured out before booking your first appointment.

Whether you're looking for support with something specific or simply know that life feels harder than it should right now, we're here to help. Together, we'll explore what's bringing you in, discover what approach feels right, and take the next steps at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

We're honoured to be part of that journey.
